ANF conducted seven raids in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Karachi and Qilla Abdullah and recovered 3.391 tons Charas and 58.5 kg Heroin worth Rs 3780 million, while arrested six drug smugglers including a Nigerian and seized three vehicles.
ANF Karachi intercepted a truck at Super Highway near Toll Plaza and recovered 30 kg Heroin packed in a plastic bag. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody. According to initial investigations, Heroin was being transported from Peshawar to Karachi for smuggling abroad.
ANF Quetta carried out a successful intelligence-led operation and seized 3381 kg Charas from general area of Killi Habib Zai, District Qilla Abdullah. According to details, drug was packed in 73 bags placed at a deserted site for handing over from one Narco Gang to another for smuggling abroad via sea route. ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a suspected Toyota Corolla Car near Burhan Motorway Interchange, District Attock and recovered 24 kg Heroin concealed in secret cavities of the car being smuggled from Peshawar to Faisalabad. An occupant of the car was held on the spot.
ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team searched a suspected Suzuki Jeep near Burhan Motorway Interchange, Attock and recovered 10 kg Charas concealed in secret cavities of the jeep. A drug smuggler Abdul Ghafar Khan r/o Khyber Agency was taken into custody, who was trying to smuggle the narcotics to Gilgit. ANF Rawalpindi arrested an accused Tahir Mehmood Butt r/o Jhelum near PSO Petrol Pump, GT Road, Sohawa, Jhelum and recovered 2 kg Heroin concealed in his luggage. The arrested accused is a professional drug peddler and is involved in distribution of drugs since long.
ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team during routine profiling at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, detained a Nigerian Okoke Uchena Emmanuel and recovered 500 grams Heroin concealed in his jacket. During investigations, he confessed of having 75 Heroin filled capsules in his stomach; hence he was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital for recovery of Heroin capsules.-PR
