People's Bank of China said on Sunday a currency swap between China and Kazakhstan, signed as part of a series trade deals between the two countries, was worth 7 billion yuan ($1.1 billion). China was expected to sign 30 co-operative agreements worth $10 billion with Kazakhstan, as Premier Li Keqiang began his first official visit to the country, the official Xinhua news agency said earlier on Sunday.
Under the three-year currency deal, which could be extended after that time, the central banks of the two countries will exchange millions of dollars worth of each other's currencies to help finance trade and investment deals.
