KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has made it clear that the vulnerability of poor would soon turn into power following the candid steps taken by his PTI-led coalition government. "A poor will get timely justice for sure in all government departments", he said adding that change is now visible after one year of hectic efforts of legislation and elimination the scourge of corruption from public sector organisations.
He urged MPAs to work for the early accomplishment of the 100% goals of the agenda of change and particularly for the provision of speedy and cheap justice to the feeble segments of society.
He was talking to the delegations of the elite of Mardan and Peshawar here in CM Secretariat Peshawar that called on him under the leadership of MPAs Iftikhar Mashwani, Zahid Durrani and Shaukat Yousafzai and apprised him of problems faced by the people of respective areas. The delegations appreciated the steps of public welfare and agenda of change of the provincial government as well as discussed the progress made so far in this regard.
The Chief Minister regretted that corruption had become the favourite hobby of the past rulers, which was spread in the society like cancer. But, he said his government is determined to battling the war of uprooting corruption till victory. He said his government is endeavouring to make this change durable and automated with legal cover besides restoring the shattered confidence of the people in the institutions so that they can get due rights without bribing a penny.
He said besides legislation, his government has also made practical progress in this respect whereas working of government departments, police stations and patwarkhanas showed visible improvement. He said no patwari, police personnel or government servant can dare to demand or receive bribe from anyone.
He said PTI-led coalition government has also abolished the politics of revenge for good and even did not touch the recruitments made by the previous governments. He said the competent officials will continue to work with pride now while incompetent will have to improve or go homes even if they are our blue eyed.
Talking about legislations of the provincial government for the change of system, eradication of corruption, supremacy of merit, law, justice and provision of better social services to the masses, he attributed the laws of Right to Information (RTI), Right to Service (RTS), Ehtesab Commission (EC), Local Government and Conflict of Interest (CoI) acts as his government's milestone achievements.
He said these laws will help in empowering people at gross-roots level, eradication of corruption, guaranteeing transparency and provision of better services to the people. "The proposed Whistle Blow Act will be a new feather in cap of KP government that will greatly contribute in exposing the networks of smugglers and criminal elements due to 25% reward money", he added. The chief minister assured solution of all genuine problems of the delegations and issued on spot directives to concerned authorities for its early redressal.
