The Executive Committee of KP chapter of Pakistan Flour Mills Association has expressed concern over imposition of heavy duties by the Afghan Customs on flour being exported from Pakistan. In a press statement issued here on Sunday, the Flour Mills Association has demanded of the Afghan government to announce a one time tax tariff in pattern with Pakistan.
The demand was made at a meeting of the Executive Committee held here with Chairman All Pakistan Flour Mills Association, Naeem Butt.
The meeting was attended by Iftikhar Awan, Muhammad Anees Ashraf, Muhammad Sadiq and mills owners from across the province. The participants of the meeting also decided to send a delegation of flour mills association to Afghanistan for meeting Afghan President Ashraf Ghani for resolution of this problem. The Afghan President would also be requested for removing hurdles in promotion of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
They observed that illegal and unjustified tax is being collected in Afghanistan from trucks carrying flour from Pakistan to Afghanistan. The meeting also expressed profound grief and sorrow over death of former president of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI), Usman Bilour. They also offered fateha for eternal peace of his departed soul.
