The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP) organised a Business Professional Conference to portray corporate image of Pakistan to the world and motivate the entrepreneurs for business growth, enhance the confidence of the investors in Pakistan's business market and encourage youth of Pakistan to explore new horizons on December 13.
Ambassador of Columbia to Pakistan and Turkey H E Dr Fernando Panaso graced the occasion as the chief guest. ICMAP under its CPD Committee regularly organises conferences, seminars, and roundtables from time to time to foster debate on significant issues. Conferences are designed in a manner where the experts deliberate on issues in the conference to elaborate the context and future scenarios that impact the overall business efficiencies in the country.
Speakers at a conference said that Pakistan is facing numerous challenges which can only be over come if we first realise the importance of our role towards upbringing of economy. It is not only the government or cooperate sector which can bring this change.
The conference was addressed by Dr Mirza Ikhtar Baig, former Advisor to PM, Kaisar Bangali, Economist, Iftikhar Ahmed Vohra, President KCCI, Madam Tahira Raza, President FWB, Madam Rahat Kaunain, former chairperson Competition Commission of Pakistan, Tariq Sultan, Member Finance PTA, Sayyid Mansoob Hassan, Principal Consultant, Muhammad Naveed, Governance Specialist, Asif Iqbal, JD SECP, Shehzad Ahmed Malik, Partner Shezad and Co, and Abid Lateef Lodhi, Financial Management Team Leader USAID.
They also said that stakeholders need to work together for development of economy. They said that the professional institutes and professional bodies can play a pivotal role in the economic development of the country. ICMA Pakistan while realising and understanding its role took initiative by organising different business conferences across Pakistan to contribute towards awareness and promotion of industry, trade and business.-PR
