The National Assembly Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat on Thursday expressed a serious concern over the hours' long gas loadshedding in the country. Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan, chairman of the committee, directed the Managing Directors (MDs) Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Pipeline Limited (SSGPL) to take a strict action against the consumers who have installed a compressor for pulling more gas and gas generators.
The members of the committee also expressed annoyance over different petrol prices in the various parts of the country. The committee also asked Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to take strict action against the owners of petrol pumps who sell petrol at higher prices in order to ensure equal price of petrol across the country. The committee recommended chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) to furnish complete details of revenue generated through the selling of its property and also provide details of profit received by the CDA from investment of Rs 1,510 million in stock exchange and present it before the committee during the next meeting.
MNA Malik Ibrar Ahmad, Sardar Muhmmad Irfan Dogar, Parveen Masood Bhatti, Nigat Parveen Bhatti, Shahnaz Saleem, Seema Mohiuddin Jameeli, Aabdul Rehman Khan Kanju, Dr Mahreem Razzaq Bhutto, Roshan Din Junejo, Moulvi Aga Muhammad and Sabibzada Tariq Ullah and other officials of the CDA, OGRA and PTDC.
