Salaries, other expenditures: National Assembly panel grills IBCC secretary for not giving details
National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Co-ordination on Thursday grilled Secretary Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC) Muhammad Ramazan Achakzai for not providing details regarding salaries of the officers and other expenditures. The committee also expressed concern over not setting up technical board in Balochistan by the IBCC and recommended the IBCC to take immediate steps in this regard.
The committee met with Abdul Rahim Khan Mandokhail in the chair at Parliament House. The IBCC Secretary could not reply in detail when questioned by committee member Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan about the salaries of the staff and officers. However, the Secretary said that 50 % of the total income and budget of the IBCC is being spent in salaries.
While briefing the Committee, the IBCC Secretary said that there are technical boards in the three provinces, while Balochistan is deprived of it. The members expressed serious concern over not setting up technical board in Balochistan and recommended to set-up technical board immediately. They said that there is need of technical board to setup technical institutions in Balochistan for vocational education.
The IBCC Secretary said that the IBCC is authority of attestation of Secondary School Certificate/Higher School Certificates, equivalence certificate of O/A Level and uniformity of curriculum, etc. The committee recommended that Poly Technical Institute may be enhanced in Balochistan. The meeting was attended by Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan, Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan, Saeed Ahmed Khan Manais, Begum Tahira Bukhari, Sabiha Nazir, Sardar Muhammad Shafqat Khan, Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, Maulana Ameer Zaman and Minister for IPC beside senior officer from Ministry of Ports and Shipping.
