The University Diagnostic Lab of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore organised three-day International training workshop on 'Bio-safety' in collaboration with the Pakistan Biological Safety Association & International Council for Life Sciences, Forgery International Centre National institutes of Health, US.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the inaugural session of the workshop while Dr Amir Ikram and delegates Elizabeth Thomas, Tim Treven and a large numbers of UVAS faculty members and other participants from various countries of the world participating in this workshop.
Speaking on the occasion Vice-Chancellor Dr Talat Nasser Pasha said this is the best collaboration to gain innovative knowledge. He said that such training programs were necessary for knowledge sharing, advancement and skills development. He said workshop is to provide the professionals with state-of-the-art knowledge and essential practical training to all the participants. Professor Dr Masood Rabbani briefed the delegates about the objectives of the workshop.
He said goal of training workshop is to enhance awareness and understanding of issues related to bio-safety and bio-security and bio-risk management capacity as it related to safe laboratory methods in pathogen identification, contamination and protection in both human and veterinary sciences.
Many Practical sessions and hands-on training programs will be conducted during the workshop in which participants can learn skills about sample collecting and how to handle samples during transportation. Elizabeth Thomas, Tim Treven spoke about the introduction, objectives, program and expectation to the training workshop on the occasion.
