Lasbela Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (LCCI) President Yakoob H. Karim has urged the authorities to complete the second track of Lyari Expressway without any further delay. Deploring over the inordinate delay in completing Lyari Expressway, he urged the National Highway Authority (NHA) to remove all impediments in its construction so that motorists could benefit from the project.
Referring to the increasing number of vehicles, dilapidated conditions of roads, frequent traffic jams, he said that traffic congestion on the city's major arteries, particularly in districts South and West, would come to end considerably following completion of Lyari Expressway as drivers of most of heavy vehicular traffic and motorists would prefer to take the route of the Expressway.
Yakoob further said that traffic passing through RCD Highway and Northern Bypass often remain chocked between Karachi and Hub and Quetta owing to increasing number of vehicles and mismanagement on the part of traffic police and such a situation causes delay in reaching the destination.
Emphasising the need for undertaking construction of Hub Bypass, he said that project on its completion would ease flow of traffic between Hub, parts of Lasbela and Karachi, providing relief to motorists and heavy vehicular traffic proceeding to and from industrial area, ship-breaking yard, Gawadar Port and those residing in Hub Town. He said that with the construction of the project, investors would be attracted to set up their factories in Hub and in different parts of Lasbella district.
