Aitzaz Ahsan to represent PM Gilani in contempt of court case

aitzaz-ahsanKARACHI: Lawyer, barrister and politician of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan will represent Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in court it was learnt on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister has been summoned to appear before a seven-member bench of the Supreme Court on January 19.

On Monday, while issuing a contempt of court notice, the Supreme Court had asked the Prime Minister to appear before it for failing to implement its orders to re-open cases under the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).

PM Gilani announced his decision to appear before the court in his address to the National Assembly on Monday.
