There was no respite from car-lifting and robbery incidents in Islamabad despite claims by police that foolproof security measures have been put in place in the federal capital. Date collected by Business Recorder, showed that 15 vehicles, including motorbikes, were snatched, robberies took place at seven different places, while one person was murdered during the last week. Most of such crimes took place in the jurisdiction of Koshar, Ramana, Golra and Shehzad Town police stations.
Four vehicles, including bikes, were lifted from the limits of Kohsar police station.
Giving details of the stolen vehicles, sources said that a motorcycle (RLD-5856) was stolen from parking area of Press Club, a Corolla car (DJ-4932) was whisked away from Blue Area, a bike (ZQ-944) from Blue Area, whereas a Corolla car, bearing registration No IDM-4774, was stolen from F-6/1.
Similarly, Ramana police station registered four cases of auto thefts during the last week. The stolen vehicles include a motorcycle (AA-455) from Sector I-10/1 and another bike (RIM-1088) from Sector G-10/3.
Two other motorcycles (RR-983) and (RIP-2150) were stolen from Sector G-10 Markaz and from Sector G-11/4.
During the last week, Golra police station registered one murder case and two cases of stolen vehicles. Kamran Ahmad allegedly told Golra police station that the accused Fakhar Hayat and Muhamamd Jhanhgir shot dead his sister Razia Bibi.
Two more motorcycles (SDP-9259) and (AEP-501) were stolen from Sector G-14/4 and from G-13/1.
Shehzad Town police station registered one case each of robbery and theft of a vehicle. One case of a robbery and another of a stolen bike (DR-416) were reported from the limits of Shehzad Town police station.
Lohi Bheer police registered two cases of robberies, Sabzi Mandi, Koral and Industrial Area police stations registered one case each of robbery last week.
During the last week, Aabpara, Shalimar, Tarnol and Margalla police registered one case each of stolen vehicles.
