Minister for Industries Chaudhry Mohammad Shafique chaired the 3rd committee meeting on collaboration with Afghanistan held here at Punjab Board of Investment and Trade office. Representatives from 12 Departments of Punjab government were present on the occasion.
The main agenda of the meeting was to finalise the areas of collaboration between Afghanistan and Punjab. All departments gave proposal on the opportunities for investment which were previously agreed in the first two meetings of the said Committee. It was decided by the Committee members that the proposals on mutual areas of interest will be compiled but only the doable projects will be finalised. The proposals will highlight impediments faced by the Pakistani businessmen in Afghanistan especially in terms of security and tariff discrimination and suggest possible remedies and solutions to resolve the issues.
