Security forces on Sunday arrested 80 suspects and recovered arms and ammunition during a search operation around Army Public School areas. According to security and police sources, the arrested persons included Afghan nationals and tribal people. The operation was conducted in Bihari Colony, Aabshar Colony and other residential areas near the ill-fated school.
Police officials said that elite force conducted door-to-door search operation, during which 80 suspected persons were arrested. The Superintendent Police (SP) Cantt disclosed that the operation was carried out on a tipoff about the presence of suspected individuals in the area. The arrested persons have been shifted to an undisclosed location for an interrogation. Earlier, on December 20, five militants, including the brother of one of the masterminds of the attack, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Koi Hassan Khel area of Peshawar.
