Joint strategy against terrorism: OIC to host envoys', clerics' conference in Peshawar
The Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) would soon hold a conference of the ambassadors and clerics of the Muslim world in Peshawar to prepare recommendations for evolving a joint strategy against terrorism. This was stated by the Secretary General of OIC, Iyad Bin Amin Madni while talking to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak here in CM House.
Besides, Senior Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarakai, Provincial Minister for Education Mohammad Atif Khan and some other senior authorities of the provincial government were also present on the occasion. The Secretary General of OIC along with a delegation during their visit to the province called on KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. He while strongly condemning Army Public School Tragedy paid rich tributes to martyred children and teachers of the school.
He on this occasion assured the provincial government that OIC would contact the bereaved families and would extend all possible spiritual, moral and financial assistance. The Secretary General OIC clarified that like the whole world, the heads and people of Islamic countries have been aggrieved by the merciless massacre of the innocent children and at this critical juncture the whole Muslim Ummah is standing with the provincial government, bereaved families and people of Peshawar.
He said that he had come to Peshawar as representative of Islamic world to express sympathies with the bereaved families. He said that the killers of innocent children and terrorists have no religion, rather they are a minority and terrorism has become their religion. He said that the massacre of the hundreds of innocent children has shaken the whole Muslim Ummah and the feeling has become obvious that terrorism has become a cancer and weakness for the whole Islamic world. He said that time has arrived for adopting a unanimously solid and decisive measures for rooting this menace out.
On this occasion, speaking to the delegation of OIC, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said that the taking up of blood stained bodies of children has bereaved the whole province in general and provincial capital in particular is in the grip of mourning. He said that the provincial government is hiring psychological teams for the treatment of the affected children to bring them out of the critical traumatic conditions.
