LSE index up 78.38 points

Equities registered gains on the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) amid descending transaction volume on Monday. The LSE-25 index gained 78.38 points to close at 5874.57 against 5796.19 of Friday, while transaction volume was declined to 968,070 shares compared with previous volume of 1.228 million shares. According to brokers, the market players are taking fresh positions in the wake of some positive developments.
The levels of a few scrips are attractive and investment in such shares can yield profit. Pakistan Oil Fields, PSO, Pakistan Petroleum Limited, Nishat Mills Limited, Apollo Textile Mills Limited, Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited, Kot Addu Power Company Limited, Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited, Maple Lead Cement Factory Limited and DG Khan Cement registered gains while Nestle Pakistan Limited, Ferozsons Laboratories, Sana Industries Limited, SME Leasing Limited, Dewan Farooq Motors, Soneri Bank Limited, Security Investment Bank Limited, Bank Al-Habib Limited, KASB Bank Limited and Summit Bank Limited suffered losses and closed in minus column.
The gainers were much ahead with the losers, as out of a total of 111 companies, 25 showed strength and were closed in green zone, 10 suffered losses, while 76 companies stayed unchanged at their previous levels. Among the gainers, Pakistan Oil Fields gained Rs 16.95, PSO was improved by Rs 7.90, Pakistan Petroleum Limited was appreciated by Rs 5.00, while Nishat Mills Limited, Apollo Textile Mills Limited, Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited, Kot Addu Power Company Limited, Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited, Maple Lead Cement Factory Limited and DG Khan Cement were up by Rs 3.09, Rs 1.67, Rs 1.60, Rs 1.57, Rs 1.24, Rs 1.18 and paisa-94, respectively.
On the other hand, Nestle Pakistan Limited shed Rs 160, Ferozsons Laboratories was declined by Rs 9.19, Sana Industries Limited lost Rs 2.00 while SME Leasing Limited, Dewan Farooq Motors, Soneri Bank Limited, Security Investment Bank Limited, Bank Al-Habib Limited, KASB Bank Limited and Summit Bank Limited were declined by Re 1.00, paisa-47, paisa-44, paisa-34, paisa-15, paisa-15 and paisa-5, respectively. The volume leader of the day included KASB Bank Limited with 158,500 shares, K-Electric Limited with 117,000 shares and NIB Bank Limited with 114,000 shares.
