Jamaat-i-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has said that they want the issues should be resolved without creating chaos in the country and the government should immediately constitute a judicial commission (JC) to meet the demand of the PTI. He pointed out that some people were doing politics of confrontation in the country. He said issues can be resolved by demonstrating flexible attitude.
Speaking at lawyers' gathering in Multan High Court Bar hall on Tuesday Siraj said military had taken over the country in 1958 when political parties failed in developing consensus. The martial law was imposed in the country in 1977 when political parties failed in settling difference and the country experienced longest martial law of General Zia for 11 years.
Similarly, General/ Pervez Musharraf took over the country in 1999 due to differences between PPP and the PML-N, which provided ample environment to Musharraf take over the country. The JI leader said his party wants a foolproof system that ensures complete transparency of the entire electoral process in future. He said there was a need for the electoral reform committee to expedite its work. He made it clear that it is for the federal government to demonstrate responsible attitude in addressing the situation. It should listen to the voice of the people and respond accordingly.
"I have met PTI leadership on Monday and compelled them to resume assemblies and withdraw from resignations submitted with National Assembly Speaker. The PTI leadership has assured about rethinking to resume assemblies on the formation of Judicial Commission", Sirajul Haq said categorically.
Sirajul Haq said the JI is working on reconciliation efforts to avoid from imposition of martial law with the only agenda of strengthening the system of democracy in the country. He said the Prime Minister has written a letter to Supreme Court of Pakistan for the constitution of Judicial Commission and he was optimistic in resolution of crisis between the government and the PTI. He also appealed the PTI come back to assemblies for the sake of constitution, rule of law and democracy.
He strongly condemned Peshawar Army Public School terrorism and announced the JI has decided celebrating the year 2015 as the year of peace and all the stakeholders must contribute for peace at all levels.
The JI is going to hold a peace conference on January 1 in Peshawar to promote peace values. Everyone in Pakistan is worried about the present situation in country because terrorism is destroying the entire fabric. There is no relation between Islam and terrorism because Islam negates it.
At least 100 to 150 people are killed on daily basis. He said the American imperialism has rejected the right of rule to Hamaas where clashes had been broken out. In Egypt elected president Mursi was removed and pro-American regime has been taken over the country. The Pakistan is facing the same myth because the country had been lacked with real democracy for the last 65 years. The present terrorism in the country is the part of international conspiracy to sabotage Muslim unity. Earlier, the Multan High Court Bar Association president Syed Athar Shah Bokhari welcomed JI amir Sirajul Haq on visiting the bar.
