British boxer Amir Khan here on Sunday visited Data Darbar and prayed for safety and prosperity of Pakistan. The Pakistani origin boxer also laid a wreath on the shrine of the saint. Talking to press he stated that he was deeply hurt by the incident in Peshawar where so many precious lives were lost. Boxer stated that he would also visit Peshawar where carnage took place. Amir Khan said he was interested in training Pakistani boxers and had signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a boxing academy.
Amir Khan averred that there was no dearth of talent in Pakistan. He dilated that he wanted to dispel the notion that Pakistan was an unsafe country.
Amir Khan also met Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif during the day. He discussed promotion of boxing in the country with the chief minister on the occasion.
