Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan has said that government will form a separate authority "Fata Infrastructure and Work Authority (FIWA)" to improve infrastructure facilities in Fata especially the transportation, power generation and public services. He said this during a presentation on concept clearance paper on establishment of FIWA at Governor House here on Wednesday.
ACS Fata Muhammad Azam Khan accompanied by former secretary Habib Ali, Secretary P&D Muhammad Tariq, and Chief Engineer Fata Arif Khan briefed the Governor on the concept paper. The Governor said that to develop Fata region FIWA would be established. He also stressed certain priority aspects for ensuring sustainability and maintenance of the infrastructure in Fata. In this connection the Governor further elaborated that FIWA should be designed and crafted with adequate administrative, financial and functional autonomy to deliver the services of desired standards.
