The Karachi Port handled 62,287 tonnes of cargo comprising 28,077 tonnes of import cargo and 34,210 tonnes of export cargo including 3,060 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 28,077 tonnes comprised of 2,852 tonnes of containerised cargo; 325 tonnes of general cargo and 24,900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,210 tonnes comprised of 25,423 tonnes of containerised cargo; 192 tonnes of general cargo; 5,295 tonnes of rice and 3,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,060 containers comprising of 449 containers import and 2,611 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 39 of 20's and 85 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 120 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 506 of 20's and 567 of 40's loaded containers while 349 of 20's and 311 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely Kota Karim, PAC Aries, Japan, Bun Shin and BBC Spring carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to seea during the reported period There were three vessels viz. PAC Aries, MT Quetta and BBC Spring carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There was one ship namely Shalamar carrying oil tanker sailed out to sea on Thursday, while three ships namely APL Guangzhou, Lissy Schulte and Thorco Sapphire carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
There was one vessel viz. RHL Aqua carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday, while five vessels viz. Cosco Kawasaki, Deira, Elina-B, Danica Brown and Stellar Maestro carrying containers, coal and project cargo respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 91,721 tonnes comprising 68,201 tonnes of import cargo and 23,520 export cargo inclusive 2,239 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 68,201 tonnes includes 39,603 tonnes of diesel oil; 2,006 tonnes of sunflower seed; 3,093 tonnes of chemical and 23,499 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 23,520 tonnes includes 23,520 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There were two ships namely CV CMA CGM Rabelais and MT Al-Soor-II with containers and diesel oil sailed out sea on Thursday morning, while two ships namely CV Maersk Columbus and MV Sea Harvest carrying containers and chemical are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of five vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Rabelais, CV Maersk Columbus, MV Ann Kjerstz, MV Sea Harvest and MT Al-Soor-II currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, sunflower seed, chemical and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as five ships namely Hugo Schulte, New Delhi Express, JS Green Sun, Pacific Sun and MT Lahore with containers, chemical and furnace oil are at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There were three vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Rablais, CV Maersk Columbus and MV Sea Harvest with containers and chemical took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Wednesday. There are two ships namely CV Hugo Schulte, CV New Delhi Express, MV JS Green Sun and MT Lahore with containers, chemical and furnace oil due to arrive on Thursday.
