Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Raheel Sharif said on Thursday that entire nation was looking towards political and military leadership to take bold and meaningful decisions against terrorists and their sympathisers. Talking to the 78th Corps Commanders' Conference here at Army Headquarter, General Raheel expressed hope that much-needed and precious political consensus achieved against terrorism should not be lost to smaller or petty issues.
"The key lies in all institutions joining hands for an effective and prompt implementation of a comprehensive National Action Plan without losing any further time," General Raheel emphasised. On this occasion, he also reviewed the homework done by all concerned for execution of their respective assigned tasks listed in the National Action Plan and directed them to follow strict time-lines.
According to ISPR, Corps Commanders appreciated the resolve of the national political leadership shown during an All-Party Conference (APC). The participants of the conference expressed grief over tragic loss of innocent lives in the Peshawar terrorist attack, solidarity with bereaved families; and they resolved not to stop operations till elimination of the last terrorist from our soil.
"The forum reviewed the overall internal and external security situation in the country with particular focus on the on-going operations. The recent upsurge in Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) across the country was also reviewed and its effects appreciated," the ISPR continued.
