Federal Secretary Finance Dr Waqar Masood on Friday called on Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Abdul Majeed and discussed with him education and health packages for Azad Kashmir. Besides, the provision of anti-terrorism force to AJK came under the discussion.
Chief Secretary AJK Abid Ali and Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Fayyaz Ali Abbasi were also present in the meeting. Under the education package over five thousand vacancies and under the health package around 300 posts would be created in AJK. While around 700 security personnel of Anti Terrorism Force (ATF) would also be inducted in AJK.
The AJK prime minister appreciated Federal Government's co-operation for the speedy completion of development projects in Azad Kashmir. He said that hydro power projects in AJK were also near the completion. Regarding national educational policy he said that it would not only provide job opportunities to educated youth but would also help raise standard of education in Azad Kashmir.
Chaudhry Abdul Majeed said that with an aim to ensure safety of people's lives and property special attention was being paid to improve security in the State. He thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for taking a keen interest in the welfare projects of Azad Kashmir adding that construction of Islamabad-Muzzafarabad Railway link, two lane Tao Butt-Mangal road and Lipa and Shunter tunnels would create job opportunities in Azad Kashmir, raising the living standard of people of the area.
