The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani has directed police high ups to post an additional SHO security in all urban police stations of the province. He issued these directives while chairing a high level meeting of Regional Police Officers (RPOs) regarding law and order in the province held at CPO Peshawar on Friday.
The meeting had been convened to take stock of the instructions issued to them regarding security of sensitive and vulnerable establishments and places in the last meeting. Additional IGPs Headquarters, Operations, Commandant Elite Force, Deputy Commandant Rapid Response Force, CCPO, DIG training, AIG operations, SSP operations Peshawar and all Regional Police Officers attended the meeting.
In the meeting security of schools, colleges and other sensitive establishments, Tenants Information Form (TIF), rented building and hotels security acts, schedule four accused, search and strike operations, vehicles detected through VVS and persons checked through CRVS were thread barely discussed. All Regional Police Officers gave detailed briefing of their respective regions about the prevailing security situation and steps taken for it.
The IGP directed the participants to post an additional SHO in all urban police stations of the rank of inspector or sub inspector along with necessary staff. They were further directed that all RPOs and DPOs should personally visit each and every school, college and other sensitive establishments in their jurisdiction and review the security measures adopted there.
They were further directed to ensure that security team headed by a dedicated and professional security incharge was in place, CCTV camera, proper razer wire in the wall and checking of employees through bio-metric system installed.
Similarly, they were also directed to visit each and every city, town and village and informed and sensitised the people through loudspeaker from mosques and local press to immediately fill the Tenant Information Form (TIF) and register cases against those violating tenant and rented building laws enacted in the larger interest of the public.
He made it clear that the performance of the police will be judged through action taken against those who have not submitted Tenant Information Form (TIF). They were also directed to check the record of all hotels and collect record of those who stayed in the hotels.
The IGP also stressed the need for keeping strict vigilance on those schedule four accused, which bailed out and were directed to take them on surety bond again and properly monitor their activities and restrict their movement. "Each and every one should identify sensitive establishments in his division and district and should adopt stringent security measures with due professional zeal and spirit, concluded the IGP.
