Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with his 22 cabinet colleagues is scheduled to leave for Bahrain on January 7, 2014 (today) on a one-day official visit. According to sources, Pakistan International Airline (PIA) is operating a special VVIP charter flight 'PK-002" from Islamabad to Bahrain by aircraft A-320 from January 7, 2015 till January 8, 2015.
They said that out of 41 aircraft, 31 planes are operational and PIA had recently procured two A-320 aircraft on a wet lease from Bulgaria under its traffic management and revival plan. There is a designated plane for the prime minister's foreign travels. He, however, has preferred an A-320 for his travel to a tiny Gulf state. Moreover, according to sources, an A-320 plane has 158-seat capacity; of which, eight seats are for Business Class while the rest are in economy class.
Moreover, PIA management has made special arrangements for PM's tour and expanded its Business Class to accommodate all his 22 cabinet colleagues. They said that all meals for VVIP flight would be prepared under the supervision of local security, army and PIA doctors at Islamabad and the flight would be operated by a Captain along with two cockpit crew members and six cabin crew members; besides two aircraft engineers would also accompany the flight for technical coverage. Moreover, sources said that cabin crew would serve as many as 27 items in breakfast during his trip. Similarly, PM and his cabinet colleagues will enjoy a large number of delicious items at lunch during their return to the country.
