Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said that government would provide funds for the development of Fata particularly for the provision of health and education facilities. The Prime Minister stated this while talking to a delegation of Fata Senators, which called on him. The delegation included Abbas Khan Afridi, Haji Khan, Hilal ur Rahman, Muhammad Saleh Shah, Idrees Khan Safi, Hidayatullah and Najmul Hassan.
He said government would provide more employment opportunities to the youth of Fata. The PM especially mentioned that efforts should be made to exploit the huge marble reserves present in the tribal areas and emphasised the use of latest machinery in this regard.
Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar and Barrister Zafarullah were also present during the meeting. Matters relating to re-settlement of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) as a result of Operation Zarb-e-Azb also came under discussion.
The PM said government has provided billions of rupees for providing relief and assistance to the IDPs and would continue to facilitate their resettlement in their areas. The delegation apprised the Prime Minister of matters relating to their areas.
