The country's jewellery export plunged by 98.03 percent to US 3.940 million dollars in July to November, 2014-15, according to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). Jewellery export posted a fall of US 196.104 million dollars in July to November 2014-15 down from 200.044 million dollars in July to November, 2013-14, PBS mentioned. In November 2014, jewellery export dipped by US 0.86 million dollars (99.07 percent) to 0.580 million dollars from 1.440 million dollars in November 2013, the official figures showed.
According to PBS the country's export of gems shot up by 40 percent to US 3.743 million dollars in July to November, 2014-15 from 2.677 million dollars in July to November, 2013-14. The country's export of gems showed an increase of US 1.066 million dollars in July to November, 2014-15 if compared with export of gems during the corresponding period last fiscal year. In term of volume, the country's export gems grew to seven metric tons in July to November, 2014-15 from four metric tons in July to November, 2013-14, showing an increase of 75 percent or three metric tons. In November 2014, the country's export of gems went up to 1.120 million from US 0.574 million dollars in November 2013, indicating a rise of 95.12 percent or 0.546 million dollars. In term of quantity, the country's export of gems surged to two metric tons in November 2014 from one metric ton in November 2013, depicting an increase of 100 percent or one metric ton, PBS mentioned.
