Two paramilitary Rangers personnel were killed and another injured in an encounter with alleged militants in Sherpao Colony, Landhi in the wee hours on Tuesday. According to details, Rangers personnel conducted a raid in Sherpao Colony, Landhi on a tip-off about the presence of militants associated with the banned organisation.
On the arrival of paramilitary troops, unknown armed militants opened fire on forces resultantly two Rangers men identified as Rukhsar and Ameer Hassan were critically injured. They were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment. However both of them succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Following the incident, additional contingents of Rangers and police reached the spot and sealed all exit and entry points to nab the culprits. The law enforcement agencies arrested, at least, three suspects belonging to a banned organisation during door-to-door operation. Three hand grenades and other arms were also recovered.
