LONDON: European stock markets recovered at the start of trading on Tuesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index climbing 0.5 percent to 7,588.01 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 gained 0.7 percent to 12,321.07 points and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.5 percent to 5,302.36 compared with Monday's closing levels.
Europe's main indices had kicked off the week with losses of between 0.6 and 1.2 percent, dragged down by trade war concerns and a political crisis in Germany.
