Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Wednesday said that it is highly unlikely that angels would descend from the heavens to protect Pakistan and that the government should take strong decisions to put an end to religious hatred.
He expressed these views in a statement issued from London.
He urged the government to arrest the culprits who attacked the vigil at the Liberty Market in remembrance of the late governor Punjab Salman Taseer and punish them severely.
The MQM chief also demanded the government to arrest Abdul Aziz of the Laal Masjid Islamabad immediately in wake of the case registered against him.
"Mualana Abdul Aziz is moving freely despite of the fact that two authentic First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed against him in Islamabad and Karachi," he said.
"Abdul Aziz is not only free from grasp of law but also addressing people openly. In view of the FIRs filed against him, its government's responsibility to arrest him immediately," said Hussain.
Altaf Hussain has suggested the government to impose ban on group of preachers delivering hate speeches and spreading detestation among masses.
Hussain said that the government should not forget that shutting eyes like a pigeon or sinking the beak in the sand like an ostrich could only make it an easy prey to its opponents and nothing else.
Congratulating members of National Assembly and senate on passing 21st constitution amendment, Hussain prayed to Almighty Allah for the people of Pakistan, parliamentary and military leadership to attain their desired objectives through the amendment.
