The Karachi Port handled 127,164 tonnes of cargo comprising 104,908 tonnes of import cargo and 22,256 tonnes of export cargo including 6,591 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 104,908 tonnes comprised of 53,198 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10,200 tonnes of rock phosphate and 41,510 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo comprised of 22,256 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 6,591 containers comprising of 3,740 containers import and 2,851 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The break-up of imported containers shows 1,408 of 20's and 980 of 40's loaded while 2 of 20's and 185 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 549 of 20's and 406 of 40's loaded containers while 600 of 20's and 445 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely ER Helgoland, OEL Trust, PAC Aries, Somerset and Interpid carrying containers, cement and talcum powder respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. Hyundai Bangkok, Northern Prelude, PAC Aries and APL Chicago carrying containers respectively currently at the berths. There were three ships namely Hyundai Bangkok, Northern Prelude and Kota Kasturi carrying containers respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday, while another ship namely MT Karachi carrying oil tanker is expected to sail on Friday.
There were three vessels viz. Kota Kasturi, Cosco Kobe and Sakaka carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while three vessels viz. Philadelphia, DL Clover and Ming Yuan carrying containers, oil tanker and steel respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 116,416 tonnes comprising 86,130 tonnes of import cargo and 30,286 export cargo inclusive 3,296 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 86,130 tonnes includes 22,252 tonnes of diesel oil; 21,880 tonnes of coal; 9,660 tonnes of sunflower seeds and 32,338 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo includes 30,286 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,296 containers comprising of 1,702 containers import and 1,594 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. There were three ships namely CV CMA CGM Cornielle, MT Al-Dasma and MV Elina-B with containers, oil tanker and bulk cargo sailed out sea on Thursday morning, while another ship namely CV Maersk Pittsburg carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of six vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Cornielle, CV Maersk Pittsburg, MV Hyderabad, MV Elina-B, MT Yasa Aysen and MV Al Dasma currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, sunflower seeds and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours. No ships are at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Thursday. There were three vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Saigon Express, CV Marth Schulte and MT Trimula with containers and LPG expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday. There are three ships namely CV Alliance Fairfax, CV Seroja Tiga and CV MSC Antala carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Saturday.
