Inadequate security exposed: six vehicles stolen, eight houses, shops robbed in Capital
Due to inadequate security in the federal Capital, eight houses including shops were robbed and auto thieves have stolen six vehicles from various parts of the city during last week. The vehicles were either stolen or snatched at gunpoint by the car lifters in broad daylight, which badly exposed the Islamabad police as far as effective security arrangements are concerned.
According to data gathered by Business Recorder, the worst-hit areas were within the limits of Kohsar, Margalla and Ramna police stations. During last week Kohsar police station registered one case each of robbery and car theft. Muhammad Khawaja Hafiz informed Koshar police station that gold ornaments and cash totalling Rs 325000 were stolen from his house, suspecting her maid might stolen the gold ornaments. Auto thieves have stolen a Corolla car (LE-588) of Abdur Rasheed from blue area.
Margalla police also registered one case each of robbery and auto theft. Unknown robbers have stolen gold ornaments, mobile phone, cash, laptop and prize bonds worth Rs 600,000 from the house of Iftikhar Ahamd, located at Sector G-9/2. Motor vehicle thieves have stolen a Mehran car (LE-5498) of Usman from G-9/1 worth Rs 450000.
During last week Ramna police station registered two cases of robbery. Two armed person riding a bike, snatched cash and mobile phone at gunpoint from Wajid Ali in Sector G-10/4. Similarly, unknown people have stolen gold ornaments, mobile phone and watch worth Rs 200,000 from the house of Mushtaq Ahmad located in Sector G-10/2. Aabpara and Industrial Area police stations registered one case of robbery while Tarnol, Bara Kahu, Lohi Bheer and Shalimar police stations also registered one case of robbery each during the last week.
