Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has said, making peace and stability and development on sustained basis in entire country is closely linked to the situation in FATA. Therefore, employment opportunities in FATA will have to be generated through accelerating pace of development and to make amenities of life available to Temporarily Dislocated People from the area in particular.
For this purpose, it is direly required that all the respective departments and organisation must join hands and work devotedly. Side by side, he added, hectic efforts are afoot to bring reforms in line with the aspirations of the people of FATA in the area which are bound to facilitate the common tribal people. "Indeed a revolution from economic point of view have to be brought in which also require efficient mechanism in making all this possible", the Governor said.
This he stated while presiding over a high level meeting regarding administrative and development reforms in FATA with immediate focus on return of TDPs at Islamabad on Monday wherein possibilities were discussed to enable TDPs from FATA repatriate to their native places. The meeting was attended by the Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar and Minister of SAFRON Abdul Qadir Baloch besides the Federal Secretaries for Economic and Planning Affairs Saleem Sethi and Hassan Nawaz Tararr, Additional Chief Secretary, FATA Muhammad Azam Khan, Principal Secretary to Governor Muhammad Fakhare Alam and other senior civil and military officials. The meeting also reviewed the pace of progress on bringing reforms; infrastructure development and possibilities to repatriate the IDPs to their native places.
The Governor while referring to various points of the agenda item said, people of FATA have been rendering sacrifices for ensuring security of the country and the time is not far away when we as the nation would get rid of the problem of terrorism too. He also paid rich tributes to the matchless sacrifices of the martyrs of the Army Public School and said the entire nation is united to make security and stability of the country impregnable. Referring to the firm commitment at the national level in making all this possible, the Governor also thanked the keen interest which the Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has been taking in this respect and said, "we would never allow the great sacrifices both of our security forces and the people of FATA to go in vain".
