Training workshop on 'Trade Facilitation Agreement' was held by the Directorate of Training & Research (Customs) at Customs House here on Monday. The workshop was organised in collaboration with Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA), which was chaired by Dr Manzoor Ahmed, former member (Customs). In his speech, he said that Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) contained provisions for expediting the movement, release and clearance of the goods, including goods in transit.
It also sets out measures for the effective co-operation between Customs and other appropriate authorities on trade facilitation and customs compliance issues. It further contains for technical assistance and capacity-building in this area. The office-bearers and members of KCAA attended the workshop. Qamar Alam, President KCAA and Khurram Ijaz, General Secretary KCAA termed this workshop beneficial for the stakeholders.
