The 94th meeting of the Pesco's Board of Directors (BoDs) held here on Wednesday at Wapda House, Peshawar, with Chairman Malik Muhammad Asad Khan in the chair. The meeting approved various steps to facilitate consumers for smooth supply of electricity and redressal of complaints at their doorsteps. The Board directed rapid implementation of the printing of photo of metre reading on the electricity bills and securing of consumers data through an electronic mechanism to redress the grievances regarding wrong metre reading.
Board members including Chief Executive Pesco, Syed Hassan Fazil, Musawar Ali Shah, Lieutenant Colonel Alam Zeb Khan (Retd), Lieutenant Colonel Jahanzeb Khan (Retd), Nasir Khan Musazai, Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, Qamaruz Zaman, Namat Ullah Abid, Company Secretary Siab Ahmad, Director General HR Muhammad Iqbal Haider and Director General Public Relations Shaukat Afzal attended the meeting.
The Company Secretary Siab Ahmad presented the minutes of the meeting which were approved after detailed discussion. Chief Executive Pesco Syed Hassan Fazil gave a comprehensive presentation to the Board on efforts to bring Pesco out of losses and to provide better facilities to the consumers. He said that all-out efforts are being made for reduction in line losses and increase in recovery.
The meeting emphasised that all recruitments must be made purely on merit and for that reason recruitment be conducted through NTS or ETTA and granted approval of the merit base procedure. The Board also briefed that according to the instructions different developmental activities are being carried out in KP and in this regard work is in progress on 132KV Tarbela-Swabi transmission line. Similarly bifurcation of 11KV old Murghuz feeder has been completed and 11KV Zaida feeder has been established with a cost of more than 10 million rupees, which will facilitate consumers of the area. A number of other managerial and administrative matters on the agenda were also approved. The Board appreciated the performance of CEO Pesco. The Board vowed to use all efforts to bring Pesco out of current financial crisis.
