Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan has asked the graduating students to explore vistas of educational philosophy and practice; and proclaim their name as capable teachers. He was addressing the 5th Convocation of the Fazaia College of Education, Peshawar on Wednesday which was also attended by the Air Officer Commanding of the Northern Air Command and the Vice Chancellor of the Islamabad based Air University besides graduates and their parents.
The Governor welcomed the commitment of the Fazaia College of Education to join hands with government in providing opportunities to students from FATA desirous of seeking education and training at its premises and said, "We all are dedicated to promote the cause of education through our combined will, resources and expertise and I am thankful to the Pakistan Air Force for joining us in furthering the cause," he remarked.
Firdaus Farid was honoured with gold medal for achieving distinction in M.A. Education while Misbah Farid, Hina Zahoor, Naila Hassan and Mahpara Hassan were awarded gold medals and merit certificates for their extra ordinary performance in 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st batches of B.Ed examinations respectively. Similarly, Jawairia Mushtaq and Sana Ashfaq achieved medals for achieving top positions in 18th and 19th batches of Montessori Method of Teaching respectively.
The Governor further advised the graduates that innumerable opportunities are abound to the noble profession of education. This day, he added, brings in their lives a renewed sense of accomplishment and beckons them to step ahead with poise and dignity. He expressed the confidence that they would build a glorious future on the foundation which this institution has laid down for them. "I am happy to learn that students, hailing from FATA have also been graduated from this institution and let me assure that the office of Governor is working hard in taking the light of education to every child of FATA in particular", he said.
Earlier, the Principal of the College while presenting the performance report of the institution said that 1936 students have passed out from the college up till now. "We have upgraded postgraduate studies and beside the normal education and training facilities, both team and leadership skills are also inculcated amongst the students", she said.
