The grand finale of the Unilever Talent Hunt (UTH) concluded at a local hotel, with students from IoBM winning the chance to represent Pakistan at Unilever's Future Leader's League in London.
The Unilever Talent Hunt (UTH) is a business competition aimed at building a stronger employer brand amongst the best universities of Pakistan, providing students the opportunity to showcase their academic and strategic acumen. In 2014, Unilever built the competition on the platform of the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan (USLP) to create awareness and also provide students with a chance to contribute to the USLP. This year's competition focused on the sustainability agenda of six brands, including Lifebuoy, Dove, Pureit, Walls, Blue Band and Surf Excel. These brands are leveraging Unilever's global learnings to inspire people to take small, everyday actions to create a brighter future for us all.
UTH 2014 targeted 11 universities across Pakistan through campus activations, reaching a total of 1,100 students from a diverse background including business, fashion and engineering. As a result, a total of 300 registrations (50 per brand) were received, which is three times the registrations from 2013. Following the short-listing, a total of 13 teams were mentored by Unilever over the course of 4 weeks and provided funding to test their ideas on-ground, with just 6 teams moving onwards to the finale.
Ehsan Malik, Chairman and CEO, Unilever Pakistan Limited, highlighted "Unilever's commitment to Pakistan also extends to its people, which is why we continue to strive to make Unilever Pakistan Limited a great place to work. Unilever has been independently rated as the No. 1 'Employer of Choice' in Pakistan for the 7th consecutive year in 2014, in the process further increasing our lead on the runner-up. I believe that Pakistan has some of the best talent in the world, which is reflected in the many opportunities that our local employees are offered in Unilever's business across the world."
Shafaq Omar, Director Human Resources, Unilever Pakistan Limited, added "At Unilever we look for people who believe that a better world is possible and who share the vision of providing responsible leadership and sustainable business. The Unilever Talent Hunt provides the platform to identify such future leaders and showcase their talents globally."-PR
