The Karachi Port handled 118,556 tonnes of cargo comprising 89,306 tonnes of import cargo and 29,250 tonnes of export cargo including 6,697 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 89,306 tonnes comprised of 55,188 tonnes of containerised cargo; 123 tonnes of general cargo; 25,089 tonnes of bulk cargo: 19,000 tonnes of coal; 6,089 tonnes of DAP and 8,906 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 29,250 tonnes comprised of 19,254 tonnes of containerised cargo; 572 tonnes of general cargo; 7,524 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,621 tonnes of cement; 3,813 tonnes of rice; 2,090 tonnes of iron and 1,900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,697 containers comprising of 3,897 containers import and 2,800 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,300 of 20's and 1,274 of 40's loaded while 426 of 20's and 694 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 336 of 20's and 474 of 40's loaded containers while 622 of 20's and 518 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were three ships namely Commodore, OOCL Chicago and Le Li carrying containers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were three vessels viz. Uni Premier, Ariane Makara and BW Shinano carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.
There were two ships namely Ever Result and Uni Premier carrying containers respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while two ships namely Northern Guild and SFL Hudson carrying containers and coal are expected to sail on Saturday. There were two vessels viz. MT Karachi and Huseyn Javid carrying oil tankers respectively due to arrive on Friday, while four vessels viz. ER Helgoland, Hyundai Vancouver, Pacific Pride and Conti Flint carrying containers and steel respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 84,763 tonnes comprising 50,240 tonnes of import cargo and 34,523 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,296 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 50,240 tonnes includes 10,599 tonnes of palm oil; 2,500 tonnes of LPG; 9,040 tonnes of fertilizer and 28,101 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 34,523 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,296 containers comprising of 1,479 containers import and 1,817 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There was one ship namely CV CMA CGM Florida with containers sailed out sea on Friday morning, while two ships namely CV Hansa America and MV Hyderabad carrying containers and coal are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of seven vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Florida, CV Maersk Hardford, CV Hansa America, MV Hyderabad, MV Sino-6, MT FSL London and MT Eupen currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, fertilizer, palm oil and LPG respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as six ships namely Maule, Julie Delmas, Ince Karadeniz, Ikan Prang, CPU Australia and Pioneer carrying containers, rape seeds, cement, crude oil and tug boat respectively are at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday. There were six vessels viz. CV Maule, CV Julie Delmas, MV Pioneer, MV Ikan Prang, MT CPU Australia and MV Mid Falcon carrying containers, cement, tug boat, crude oil and chemical expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday. There is one ship namely CV MSC Athas carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday, while two ships namely CV K Phoenix and CV Xpress Kailash carrying containers are due to arrive on Sunday.
