Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Thursday visited Royal Military Academy and Royal College of Defence Studies in London. The CoAS said that that the Peshawar massacre united the whole nation, adding that the political and military leadership of the country were working together against terrorism.
During his visit, the Army Chief also met Pakistani cadets undergoing training in the academy. General Sharif urged Pakistani cadets to become team leaders and to bring honour to the country. General Sharif also visited Royal College of Defence Studies and presented Pakistan's stance on security challenges and terrorism. He said Pakistan is determined to work against terrorism.
The Pakistani High Commission in London also held a reception in Army Chief's honour wherein British Defence Minister Michael Falcon, members of parliament Lord Tariq Mehmood, Saeeda Warsi, Lord Nazir Ahmad, Khalid Mehmood and members of European Parliament Dr Sajjad Kareem and Amjad Bashir and leaders of local Pakistani community participated. In his address at the reception ceremony, General Sharif said that the entire nation got united after the Peshawar massacre.
He said the operation against the terrorists was continuing and that several areas had been cleansed of terrorists. Army Chief said that Pakistan's relations with Afghanistan were improving and Pakistan's political and military leadership were working together to root out the terrorism from the country.
