The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) announced Saturday that it would observe a countrywide strike against publication of sacrilegious caricatures of Holy Prophet (PUBH) by French magazine Charlie Hebdo. In a press statement, SCBA said that lawyers would boycott courts across Pakistan on Monday.
It demanded that Pakistani government raises the issue at the platform of Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC). "The international community must ensure that such caricatures are not published again," it added. The blasphemous cartoons were published by the satirical magazine last Wednesday on its first edition after the gun attack, which left 12 people killed.
