The Provincial Development Working Party Punjab (PDWPP) approved 12 development schemes of various sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 4. 896 billion including replacement of outlived sewer lines in WASA Multan at the cost of Rs 1.213 billion
These schemes were approved in the 33rd meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2014-15 presided over by Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman, Muhammad Irfan Elahi. Provincial Secretary P&D Waseem Ajmal Chaudhary, members of the Planning and Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
According to spokesman for P&DD, the approved development schemes included: Preparation of Master Plan for Water Supply, Sewerage, Drainage and Groundwater Management System for Sheikhupura, Kasur and Nankana Sahib District (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 159.28 million,
2) Replacement of outlived sewer lines in WASA Multan at the cost of Rs 1.213 billion;
3) Comprehensive Sewerage/Drainage Scheme Taunsa Sharif including Tuff Tiling of Streets at the cost of Rs 495.667 million.
4) Rehabilitation/Extension of Sewerage/ Drainage system of Mian Channu City District Khanewal at the cost of Rs 299.976 million.
5) Urban Drainage PCC and Brick Pavement Scheme Kasur City District Kasur at the cost of Rs 457.681 million,
6) Rehabilitation of Eastern Sadiqia Canal RD 0+000 to 245+000 (Balance Work), Bahawalnagar at the cost of Rs 257.149 million.
7) Construction of Alternate Buildings in D.G. Khan Canals Division D.G. Khan (Revised) at the cost of Rs 288.739 million.
8) Widening / Improvement of road Gujranwala Byepass Awan Chowk to Baghwala Chowk via Nowshera Virkan Karyal Road length=44.00 kms, in District Gujranwala (Revised) at the cost of Rs 327.439 million,
9) Construction of the bridge over River Chenab at Shahbazpur to connect District Gujrat with Distt. Sialkot, Distt. Gujrat (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 15.000 million,
10) Construction of metalled road from Benazir Road at railway crossing 1/4/L to Renala Khurd along railway line) via Education University Okara (Kot Bari Bridge to Renala Khurd) via Education University along L.B.D.C (L=12.50 km) Distt Okara at the cost of Rs 179.107 million,
11) Construction of Road from Jinnah Chowk to Northern Bye Pass to Multan Public School and Bosan Road to Mattital Road, length=11.44 in District Multan at the cost of Rs 1107.607 million and
12) Widening and Improvement (Dualization) of road from Lodhran Bypass, Basti Pacca, Mouza Hussainabad, Basti Muradwala, Haveli Naseer Khan to Hasilwala Distt Lodhran, length-18.00-km at the cost of Rs 308.340 million.
