Chairman of Sub-committee on Hesco/Wapda of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdul Sattar Khan has criticised increase in electricity loadshedding duration and said eight-hour loadshedding is adversely affecting industrial production which may cause the closure of industrial units. He said Hesco chief and other officers have time and again been reminded of unrest among industrialists and losses to industries but it seems as if Hesco chief was avoiding resolving the issue.
According to the policy, Hesco is bound to ensure power supply to industrial estate and small industries, he observed. He said the prime minister and minister of state for power and water have been assuring industrialists that the industries would be exempted from electricity loadshedding and they would be provided power at regular basis.
