The Lahore High Court here on Thursday issued notice to the federal government in a petition challenging constitution of new provinces. The petitioner Shabbir Hussain has submitted that the government is taking steps to make new provinces in the country. The petitioner said that the Constitution did not allow making of new provinces and these new provinces are against the basic structure of the Constitution of Pakistan 1973. The petitioner therefore prayed to the court to stop demarcation of provinces on political grounds.
