Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rahman chaired a meeting with Cellular Mobile Operators (CMO) here on Friday to discuss the "Auction" of unsold spectrum. Federal Secretary IT Azmat Ali Ranjha, Chairman PTA Dr Syed Ismail Shah, Member Telecom Muddasar Hussain and other official of MOIT were also present in the meeting.
The industry whiles conforming the appetite for more spectrum, raised their concerns on high taxation and challenges being faced due to on-going (Sims) re-verification process.
The Minister informed of the high-level inter-ministerial committee that was already been constituted to formulate their consensus recommendation for the consideration of the Government. The Chairman PTA was requested to complete all the pre-requisites for the auction process.-PR
