Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) on Sunday held separate rallies against printing of sacrilegious caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by the French weekly. JI chief Siraj-ul-Haq while addressing 'Shan-e-Mustafa Million March", organized by his party from Nipa Chowrangi to Hassan Square, urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to convene Organisation of Islamic Conference's (OIC) meeting over the publication of sacrilegious caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by western media.
On the occasion, Siraj-ul-Haq announced that his party would resist the western world's nefarious design to create hatred.
"I have contacted the leaders of Islamic movements across the world in Malaysia, Iraq, Syria, Iran and Egypt and called for organising protest demonstrations against the heinous act of western world," he added.
"Nizam-e-Mustafa should be implemented in the country for its better future as well as for real Islamic state," he added.
Addressing the gathering, Naib Ameer JI Assadullah Bhutto said that millions of people through the march proved that the Karachi was the city of 'Ghulaman-e-Mustafa'.
He demanded of the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to immediately sever diplomatic ties with France and United States and expel their envoys from the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman saluted the people of Karachi for their participation in the Million March in large numbers.
Chief of JuD Professor Hafiz Muhammad Saeed while addressing the 'Hurmat-e-Rashool' rally organized by JuD from Safari Park to Shahra-e-Quaideen said that Muslim leaders should take the Hurmat-e-Rasool as a 'point of unity' and collectively work for thwarting the nefarious designs of anti-Islamic forces.
He appealed to the local traders to stop business of French products besides advising women to boycott the cosmetics of the said country.
He said that not a single Muslim will tolerate blasphemy of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
" The Muslims should take a solid stance on the issue and should put pressure on Western world particularly America and France for carrying out legislation against the blasphemy of all prophets and sacred books," he demanded.
Shah Awais Noorani of JUP led a rally that started from Jama Cloth and ended at Press Club.
Addressing the rally, he condemned the attempt of western world to hurt the sentiments of billions of Muslims by printing blasphemous cartoons of their beloved Muhammad (PBUH). He said that his party would continue its struggle till the elements were not brought to the justice. He also requested the people to boycott the products of France. A large number of protestors including men, women and children were participated in these protests. The protestors of the rallies were carrying placards and banners inscribed with anti-western and anti-blasphemous slogans.
"We condemned the publication of sacrilegious caricatures in western media", "Blasphemy is terrorism not freedom," read one of the placards at JI rally.
Leaders of other political and religious parties including PML-N, PTI, JUP, JUI-S, JUI-F and people belonging to different walks of life including businessmen, lawyers, doctors, engineers and others also attended these rallies.
