Closure of Lahore Transport Company (LTC) buses, which run between Lahore and Narang, has irked people, especially the commuters who travel daily to reach their workplaces. Passengers said that two LTC service was launched just four days before the by-election of PP-162 Narang Mandi held on October 17, 2014 but after the passage of three months, the service was closed on January 12, 2015 without any reason.
They demanded Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to restore LTC service with adding more buses for the convenience of people.
The launching of LTC service was a laudable step by LTC authorities but its closure is a great joke with the people, says Rana Shahid Abbas, an educationists and daily commuter. Once trains were used to be a big source of travelling for the people of Narowal section but unfortunately, Pakistan Railways closed eight trains due to shortage of locomotives and in this situation, the operation of two LTC buses had provided a relief to people with regard to travel. He appealed to the government to restore LTC bus service for the convenience of people. The LTC authority had operated only two buses which plied from Lahore Railway station to Narang Station were going successful but their closure is illogical, said a trader Muzamil Hussain Faraz who travels daily from Shahdra to Narang.
