Pakistan People's Party has asked its workers to start preparation for the upcoming local government (LG) elections in order to get maximum seats in all the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. PPP's provincial president Khanzada Khan said in a statement that his party would fully participate in the LG elections, as the party was one of the mainstream political parties and would emerge successful.
"During my recent visit to different parts of the province, especially Mardan, I observed that the workers are fully charged to run the election campaign and win seats with overwhelming majority," he said.
He said that the leaders of different political parties had started joining PPP because people had become disappointed due to the failure of the ruling clique to materialise election commitments. He said that Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf was the leading party in the province, but it badly failed to come up to the expectations of masses and thus its own workers had started saying goodbye to it in different districts.
The PPP provincial president said that there was no grouping in the party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and all the workers were united under the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to serve the country and its people and strengthen democratic institutions.
Khanzada said that PPP always struggled for the rights of deprived people and supported the downtrodden despite many problems.
He said the sacrifices rendered by late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his daughter Benazir Bhutto were the live example of their love for the nation and country. He said that some elements were hatching conspiracies against the party's interests and trying to create rifts, but they would not succeed, as the workers were aware of the activities of those creating differences in the party.
The PPP leader asked the office-bearers in different districts to reactivate the disgruntled activists so that they could play their active role in strengthening the party in their respective localities and ensure success of their candidates.
