District admin begins crackdown against adulteration mafia: informer to get Rs 10,000 prize
The district government has announced prize of Rs 10,000 for the informer of information against the adulteration mafia of edibles and the citizens have been asked to provide the secret information of the factories and manufacturers involved in adulteration in consumable items to the control room of the district administration for taking drastic action against them to wipe out this menace from the society.
This announcement was made by DCO Noor-ul-Amin Mengal while chairing a meeting of the District Food Quality Control Board. Among others, the meeting also attended by representatives of civil society Kh Shahid Razaq Sikka, Waheed Khaliq Ramay, Mehmud Alam Jat, Suhail Niaz Toor, Asif Aslam, Rai Ejaz and Gazanfar Natiq.
Expressing his grave concern over the adulteration in edibles and said that the adulteration mafia was the enemies of human health. They should not be spared in any cost to save the consumers' lives from the different diseases. He said that the district administration had started the vigorous crackdown against adulteration mafia and this campaign could only be made successful with the cooperation of the patriotic citizens.
He informed that 20 teams of health department have been deputed to raid against the factories involved in manufacturing adulterated edibles. He directed the health department officials to make bound of the owners of factories, restaurants, hotels, bakeries and other shopkeepers of consumable items to display the telephone Nos 9201491-2 of control room of district administration at their premises conspicuously for the facility of the consumers while issuing them pure food licences.
During the meeting, it was also informed that as many as 65 samples were taken by the health department teams in different raids during the current month and out of them 38 samples have been declared unfit by the Public Analyst Laboratory which were being trailed under the relevant law.
