Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that due to sacrifice of innocent children in Peshawar, the nation has united and such an exemplary display of unity and harmony is unprecedented in the history of Pakistan. He said it is high time to take benefit from this historic opportunity and root out terrorism from the country.
Officers and Jawans of armed forces, police and common citizens have rendered supreme sacrifices in the war against terrorism, which is unprecedented in the world history. The Chief Minister expressed these views while talking to a delegation of PML-N, here on Tuesday.
Shahbaz said that worst barbarity was committed against innocent children in Peshawar and there is no other such example in the recent history. Pakistani nation is still grieved at Peshawar tragedy, besides terrorism has destroyed national economy and shaken the foundations of the country. He said political and military leadership has evolved a joint National Action Plan against terrorism and it is being effectively implemented and yielding positive results. Pakistan is facing a very difficult challenge and history has provided a unique opportunity of unity and harmony.
He said collective wisdom and all out energies will be utilised for eliminating terrorists without any discrimination of good or bad. Education, health, justice and socio-economic system are directly linked with peace and there is a need for all segments of the society to come forward and play their role for the survival of Pakistan.
