The Lahore High Court here on Wednesday allowed District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Lahore to continue crackdown on restaurants/cafes serving "Oxygen Shots" to visitors and submit his report by March 03, 2015. The court was hearing petition of a cafe on M M Alam Road challenging action taken by the district administration for serving oxygen shots, an energy boosting and relaxing therapy by inhaling pure oxygen.
Earlier, DCO Muhammad Usman while appearing before the court stated that the use of oxygen shots is dangerous for health. The DCO stated that the oxygen shots should be declared a narcotic. The court directed the DCO to take strict action against the cafes serving oxygen shots and submit a report by next date of hearing.
