Famine in Thar claimed two more lives on Wednesday, mounting the death toll to 340 in a span of 119 days. One-month year old Zaheer in Mithi hospital and eight years old Zahida died of dearth while shifting to Hyderabad from Civil Hospital Mithi. Despite the claims of the Sindh government to provide adequate facilities to the rural hospitals, nothing has been done in this regard whereas, the residents are still waiting for the government aid.
Thar has been facing scarcity of water, food and health facilities for three years.
