Pakistan Orthopaedic Association (POA) has honoured consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Shabir Awan of Maroof International Hospital Islamabad. The "Research & Publication Award" was conferred on Consultant Orthopaedic in 28th International Pak Orthicon Conference held in Karachi on writing a book "The Pearls of Orthopaedic Training" for surgical trainee doctors.
The book is widely appreciated by trainees, trainers and the professional bodies such as College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan, Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Pakistan Orthopaedic Association for producing a wonderful gift to the future surgical trainees.
The forewords for this book are written by Orthopaedic surgeons of Pakistan, United Kingdom, Korea, India and United State of America.
The author of the book has shared his experience of 25 years of professional life in UK, USA, Canada and Pakistan to improve the training methods and inputs during training as well as making trainee's mind open to new ways of achieving successes.
